Programs for The Whole Family
H.E.R.O.E.S. is Here for You
We fully recognize that our campers have parents and siblings who have needs also. That’s why we offer the following programs:
- Life Planning:
a process that helps families establish a plan for their child’s future
- Parent and Family Connections:
family workshops providing empathetic support
fun activities in a safe environment for siblings of children with disabilities
- Teen Sibling Support Group:
a group that focuses on the unique needs of teenage siblings of individuals with disabilities
Designed to meet the unique needs of every person, students experience an array of therapies, social skills training, team building activities, vocational training and facilitation of their independence.
We seek to fulfill the needs of the whole family through programs like Life Planning, Parent and Family Connections and Sibshops.
Our weekend retreats are a fun way to practice independent living skills in a real-life setting. We provide a safe environment for young adults to expand their comfort zone and increase their confidence as independent individuals.
In-Home & Community Training
Our in-home and community training aims to increase the participant’s level of independence by teaching independent living skills at home. We serve individuals in their natural environment, supporting the family in structure, routine and expectations.
Our continuing education courses promote lifelong learning by incorporating real-life experiences to prepare students for situations they will face in everyday life.
Created for those who have completed secondary education and are transitioning to adulthood, our H.E.R.O.E.S. Academy is a full-time program devoted to helping young adults realize their potential and gain confidence in their independence.
