Our continuing education courses promote lifelong learning by incorporating real-life experiences to prepare students for situations they will face each and every day. The classes focus on topics like:

Life Skills
Course Description: This class is designed to incorporate real-life experiences to prepare students for everyday situations in life, including but not limited to relationships, budgeting, money sense, grocery shopping, healthy meal planning and cooking. The course will also include career exploration and employability skills, as well as basic overall conversational and social skills, based on the setting.
Course Goals: Students will gain knowledge and experience to assist them in day-to-day activities. The goal is for the student to become a self-advocate, less dependent on people around them and be made aware of the responsibilities of a young adult.

Social Skills
Course Description: This class is designed to incorporate real-life experiences to prepare students for everyday social situations. The course’s primary focus is to teach basic overall conversational and social skills applicable to different settings in which the students may be involved.
Course Goals: Students will gain knowledge and experience to assist them in day-to-day conversational activities. The goal is for the student to become a self-advocate, less dependent on people around them and be made aware of the responsibilities of a young adult.

Day Programs
Designed to meet the unique needs of every person, students experience an array of therapies, social skills training, team building activities, vocational training and facilitation of their independence.
Parent/Family Support
We seek to fulfill the needs of the whole family through programs like Life Planning, Parent and Family Connections and Sibshops.
Weekend Retreats
Our weekend retreats are a fun way to practice independent living skills in a real-life setting. We provide a safe environment for young adults to expand their comfort zone and increase their confidence as independent individuals.
In-Home & Community Training
Our in-home and community training aims to increase the participant’s level of independence by teaching independent living skills at home. We serve individuals in their natural environment, supporting the family in structure, routine and expectations.

H.E.R.O.E.S. Academy
Created for those who have completed secondary education and are transitioning to adulthood, our H.E.R.O.E.S. Academy is a full-time program devoted to helping young adults realize their potential and gain confidence in their independence.
